FOCUS on Business Process & Strategy
Meet Jodie Martinelli
Tell us about yourself and your career journey?
I’m a mum of two and a wife to be who enjoys spending time with my family and friends outside of work. We love being outdoors and spend most weekends visiting farms, zoos, parks and anywhere else that the children can run wild! I’m also partial to a bottomless brunch with friends who share my love for prosecco, pink gin & food! I try to keep up with my hobby of doing gymnastics on a regular basis to keep active – although that’s off the agenda at the minute due to the pandemic.
My career started in September 2007. I joined the industry just six weeks after leaving school and it goes without saying that I haven’t looked back since. My first role was in customer contact, where I gained a lot of confidence, learned the business from a front line perspective and quickly discovered that I was keen to expand my skillset. I then moved into an administration role where I started to branch out into reporting and client liaison, which I continued for a couple of years before becoming a team leader. When joining Court Enforcement Services, I started in a managerial role which rapidly progressed, and my current role is Head of Business Process & Strategy.
How did you end up at Court Enforcement Services?
I was about to board a plane for my summer holiday when I received a call from one of the directors offering me a role – I accepted without hesitation as I knew it was the right move for me and had no doubt that the business would be a success. Aside from the directors, I was the first employee of Court Enforcement Services. Having worked with Daron, Daren & Wayne for many years before, I was excited to take on a new journey and be part of a new and exciting growing business. I have watched the business go from strength to strength since June 2014 and I’m proud to say I’ve been a part of its growth to become a market leader.
What is your role in the business?
My role is Head of Business Process & Strategy. I am responsible for overseeing the management of all aspects of administration & business services which incorporates our Client Services, Transfer Up, Commercial Services, Trace, Data Processing & Administration departments. I provide the management teams with strategic guidance and support whilst leading on development, enhancement and implementation of process and initiatives, ensuring that there is a structured and consistent approach to all operational functions within the business. I’m also responsible for business continuity planning and procurement, both of which have been of huge importance during the pandemic. It’s been a challenging time, but implementation of our COVID business continuity plan went smoothly and allowed us to transition into full home working at the height of C-19 to ensure that we kept our colleagues safe and were still able to deliver a service to our clients.
What benefits does your role bring to the client and customer journey?
I understand both the operational and client requirements having been with the company from the beginning and working with several departments. To ensure that we keep a structured and consistent approach with operational functions, I am constantly looking at ways to enhance our processes to ensure that departments are aligned, whilst doing so, our clients are always at the forefront of my thoughts behind any changes.
